Mobilgard 312
Trunk piston engine oil for marine diesels on low-sulphur distillate fuels, SAE 30
SAE 30
Mobilgard 12 Series are high performance diesel engine oils developed for use in trunk piston engines operating on low sulphur distillate fuels in marine and industrial applications, formulated for excellent resistance to oxidation and viscosity increase over long service periods, with superior water separating properties and excellent corrosion protection. The series is available in SAE 30 (Mobilgard 312) and SAE 40 (Mobilgard 412) grades. The oils serve as cylinder and bearing lubricants in marine and industrial diesel engines running on distillate fuels or light fuel blends, and are particularly effective in high speed engines in fishing fleets, new severe-service engines and many medium speed engines; they may also be used as crankcase lubricants in large crosshead diesel engines running on high sulphur fuels. Mobilgard 12 Series carries approvals from Caterpillar/MaK 4-stroke medium speed distillate engines, Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions) for alternating distillate/LNG and distillate operation, and Wärtsilä 4-stroke medium speed engines, and meets API CF. Benefits include excellent thermal and oxidation stability that extends periods between inspections and overhauls, improved anti-wear properties that reduce ring and liner wear, and excellent TBN reserve and detergency/dispersancy for cleaner, longer-lasting engines.
