Mobilube HD-N 80W-140 is an extra-high-performance commercial gear lubricant engineered from select base oils and an advanced additive system, for heavy-duty transmissions, axles and final drives where extreme pressures and shock loading are expected. It provides excellent chemical and thermal stability at elevated bulk oil temperatures, good low-temperature performance, and demonstrated rust protection under water contamination or wet storage conditions. It is recommended by ExxonMobil for heavy-duty manual transmissions, axles and final drives requiring API GL-5 performance, including Scania applications, across on-highway light- and heavy-duty trucks, buses, vans and cars, and off-highway construction, quarrying and agricultural equipment, plus hypoid and other gears under high-speed/shock-load, high-speed/low-torque or low-speed/high-torque conditions, and for initial fill, top-up and refill of enclosed commercial-type gearing. It is not recommended for applications requiring API GL-4 performance or for transmissions requiring engine oil or automatic transmission fluid; limited-slip differentials may require a special factory-provided lubricant.
