Manufacturer's description

Mobilube GX-A 80W is an automotive gear lubricant formulated from high-performance base oils and an advanced additive system. It is engineered for commercial transmissions, axles and final drives where protection against wear and scoring is required, and is recommended by ExxonMobil for Mercedes-Benz applications requiring MB-Approval 235.1 as well as for applications where API GL-4 service is required. It suits manual transmissions and drive axles at GL-4 level performance in passenger cars, on-highway light- and heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles, off-highway construction, quarrying and agricultural equipment, and other industrial, commercial and automotive applications including hypoid gears under moderate-to-severe operating conditions. Key benefits include good thermal stability and resistance to high-temperature oxidation for long gear, bearing and seal life, excellent rust and corrosion protection, good low-temperature lubrication for ease of start-up, and compatibility with typical automotive seals and gaskets. Mobilube GX-A 80W is an SAE 80W grade oil carrying approvals including DTFR 13B100, ZF TE-ML 17A and MB 235.14, and is recommended for applications requiring API GL-4 and MAN 341 Typ Z1, meeting or exceeding R. Bosch AS TE-ML 08.

Applications

  • Recommended by ExxonMobil for use in: • Manual transmissions and drive axles requiring API GL-4 level performance • Passenger cars, on-highway light and heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles • Off-highway industries including: construction, quarrying, and agriculture • Other industrial, commercial, and automotive applications including hypoid gears operating under moderate to severe operating conditions
