Mobilube GX Series comprises high-performance, heavy-duty gear lubricants available in SAE 80W-90 and SAE 140 grades, formulated from high-quality base oils and an advanced additive system. They are engineered for automotive heavy-duty transmissions, axles and final drives where protection against wear and scoring is required, and are recommended by ExxonMobil for applications where API GL-4 service is required. The series is intended for heavy-duty manual transmissions, axles and final drives at GL-4 level performance in passenger cars, on-highway light- and heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles, off-highway construction, mining, quarrying and agricultural equipment, and other heavy-duty industrial and automotive applications including hypoid gears under moderate-to-severe conditions. Key benefits include good thermal stability and resistance to high-temperature oxidation for extended gear and bearing life and longer seal life, excellent rust and corrosion protection, good low-temperature lubrication, and compatibility with typical seals and gaskets. Both grades are recommended for applications requiring API GL-4; the SAE 140 grade offers a heavier viscosity for more demanding final-drive applications, while the SAE 80W-90 grade suits a broader range of transmissions and axles.
