Cat Transmission & Drive Train Oil 30
TO-4 oil for power shift transmissions, final drives and wet brakes, Allison C-4
Caterpillar
Cat TDTO (Transmission and Drive Train Oil) is developed, tested and approved by Caterpillar to the same standards as Genuine Cat Parts. It is the preferred lubricant for Cat power shift transmissions, and most final drives and wet brake compartments, and is used as standard factory-fill for Cat machine compartments where TO-4 or TO-4M specification oils are recommended. It is also suitable for other manufacturers' machines that call for TO-4 or TO-4M specification oils in their transmissions, final drives and wet brake compartments. The oil prolongs clutch disc life by up to 45%, and ensures long life and excellent performance for gears, bearings and friction disc material, being engineered as an integral part of Cat power shift transmissions, most wet brake compartments and hydrostatic systems. While the TO-4 specification defines a minimum performance standard, Caterpillar requires Cat TDTO to pass five additional in-house tests before it is approved for use in Cat transmissions and final drives. The technical data sheet on file for this product documents the Cat TDTO line at SAE viscosity grades 10W, 30 and 50, each meeting Caterpillar TO-4 and Allison C-4 test requirements, with API gravity of 27.9 / 27.0 / 24.7, flash points of 202°C / 224°C / 240°C, pour points of -33°C / -18°C / -15°C, viscosities of 42.0 / 100 / 195 cSt at 40°C and 6.3 / 11.2 / 18.0 cSt at 100°C, viscosity indices of 97 / 97 / 96, and a TBN of 7.9 across all three grades (respectively for the 10W, 30 and 50 grades). Users should confirm with Bergerat Monnoyeur which specific viscosity grade corresponds to this catalogue entry.
