Cat TDTO Cold Weather is a synthetic lubricant blend that provides superior performance and protection in transmissions, torque converters, final drives, hydraulics and/or wet brakes at temperatures down to -40°F (-40°C). Its special formulation creates optimal friction performance and controls transmission slippage while eliminating clutch glazing. It has excellent compatibility with all materials used in Cat machines, including friction materials, seals and elastomers, and its outstanding thermal stability and oxidation resistance give it long drain intervals when combined with Cat S•O•S Oil Analysis and Cat Filters. Cat TDTO Cold Weather is the preferred transmission and drive train oil for low-temperature operation in certain applications and can also be used in wet brakes and hydraulics (refer to Caterpillar publication SEBU6250 for details). It is also recommended for applications requiring Caterpillar TO-4, Allison C-4, or Vickers 35VQ25 specifications. Benefits include easier engine starts in harsh cold climates, greater machine rim pull and breakout force, promoted transmission durability, increased clutch, gear and bearing life, and a single oil solution for cold-weather powertrain and hydraulic system needs. At the 0W-20 grade, typical values from the Cat technical data sheet include an API gravity of 30.8 (ASTM D287), a flash point of 190°C (ASTM D92), a pour point of -48°C (ASTM D97), and low-temperature pumpability of 1,500 cP at -30°C (ASTM D4684).

Applications

• - Cat TDTO Cold Weather is the preferred transmission and drive train oil for low temperature operation in certain applications and can be used in wet brakes and hydraulics.
