UNIREX N is a premium-quality lithium complex grease series suitable for high-temperature service in rolling-element bearings, usable across a wide range of industrial applications and particularly recommended for electric-motor lubrication. It is not intended for extreme-pressure conditions requiring extra anti-welding properties. Available in two grades, UNIREX N 2 (NLGI 2) is recommended for lubricating electric motors, including NEMA Insulation Class A, B and F motors, applied mainly by manual methods and also suitable for automatic centralised systems, though such systems don't normally need UNIREX N's long-life properties. UNIREX N 3 (NLGI 3) is not recommended for centralised systems and is particularly suited to high-speed applications, being recommended where DmN (mean bearing diameter x rpm) exceeds 360,000. Both grades exhibit excellent high- and low-temperature performance, good low-temperature start-up torque down to -20°C, excellent mechanical stability against softening under working, and excellent resistance to water washout and corrosion. UNIREX N 2 meets DIN 51825 K2N-20L and ISO 6743-9 L-XBDHA 2, while UNIREX N 3 meets DIN 51825 K3N-20L and ISO 6743-9 L-XBDHA 3.

Applications

• UNIREX N 2 is recommended for the lubrication of electric motors. It is suitable for NEMA (National Electric Manufacturer's Association) Insulation Class A, B, and F motors. Most of the uses for UNIREX N involve manual methods of application. Although UNIREX N 2 is suitable for use in automatic centralized systems, equipment served by these systems would normally not require the long-life properties of UNIREX N, since one of the functions of automatic systems is to replenish the lubricant at relatively short time intervals. UNIREX N 3 should not be used in such systems.
