High-performance extreme-pressure grease for high-speed bearings
Applications
General engineering, automotive componentsElectric motors, high-speed bearings (loaded and unloaded), high-speed machine-tool bearings, industrial fan bearings, bearings requiring a high Dm rating.
Performance & benefits
Lower seal costs resulting from the use of XHVI base oils instead of polyalphaolefin (PAO) and/or ester based oils; XHVI oils are more compatible with seal materials, allowing lower-cost seals to be used while at the same time extending service life. Lower maintenance costs achievable in electric motors and high-speed bearings, due to the extended service life and to the use of an appropriate thickener and the special additive technology developed and tested by Shell.
Reduced costs thanks to excellent performance in the high-speed bearings of machine tools, which usually use far more expensive greases from specialist companies. This performance is the result of leading-edge technology and of the investment made in grease research and development.
The proven nature of the technology is the result of approvals from the most important companies, such as SNR and ABB, across a range of applications that grows every year. The knowledge that Shell is in FULL control from research and development through to manufacture and ISO quality assurance in its own plants, which are regularly audited and have passed the quality tests of customers who have purchased Shell Gadus S5 V42P.
The availability of Shell expertise, to help safely develop the cost savings available across the wide range of Shell products.
There are no health and safety issues, as Shell Gadus S5 V42P contains no harmful components under EC requirements.
Convenient throughAssured, proper lubrication of equipment worldwide, since this product is part of the international SeaShell product range, available around the world, and is in fact used for the electric motor bearings on Shell oil platforms and refineries worldwide.
