The formulation of Shell Gadus S2 U460L grease is based on a carefully selected base oil and an inorganic thickener that ensures satisfactory lubrication above the temperature limits typical of lithium-based greases. The base oil in Shell Gadus S2 U460L is a high-quality mineral oil that has been solvent-refined and that has a high viscosity index and excellent resistance to oxidation and evaporation.
Applications
- It is recommended for lubricating bearings operating in the temperature range -10 0 C to 180 0 C. · Shell Gadus S2 U460L gives good service in many applications where a far more expensive synthetic or silicone grease would otherwise have been considered for lubrication. · The high viscosity of the base oil makes Shell Gadus S2 U460L particularly suitable for lubricating heavily loaded bearings operating at low speeds. · With care, Shell Gadus S2 U460L grease can also be used at temperatures in excess of 200 0 C, but only after regreasing intervals have been adjusted. ·
