Cat Extreme Application Grease - Arctic is designed for high-load, high-speed lubrication points on equipment operating in cold-temperature environments. It combines a high-quality lithium complex thickener with a semi-synthetic base oil, fortified with 5% molybdenum disulfide (moly), to deliver long service life in Cat applications while continuing to perform and protect at operating temperatures down to -50°C (-58°F). The grease resists softening under extreme loads and high speeds, helping reduce component wear, and resists oxidation to protect metal against rust without corroding or damaging steel, copper bearing alloys or conventional seal materials. It is rated over an operating temperature range of -50°C to +130°C (-58°F to +266°F), at NLGI grade 0.5, with a gray-black color. Typical values from the Cat technical data sheet include a base oil viscosity of 60 mm²/s at 40°C (ASTM D445), a dropping point of 230°C (ASTM D2265), a 4-ball weld load of 400 kg (ASTM D2596), a pass on rust prevention (ASTM D1743) and 1A copper corrosion (ASTM D4048).
