Manufacturer's description
Cat Ball Bearing Grease is formulated for use in high-speed ball and roller bearing applications. It is an NLGI #2 grease built on a mineral base oil with a polyurea thickener, giving it good heat resistance that helps increase component life by reducing wear rates. The grease has a blue color and is rated for an operating temperature range of -20°C to +160°C (-4°F to +320°F). Typical values from the Cat technical data sheet include a dropping point of 264°C (ASTM D2265), worked (60-stroke) penetration of 262 (ASTM D217), a 4-ball wear scar of 0.49 mm (ASTM D2266), a pass on the rust prevention test (ASTM D1743), and 1A copper corrosion (ASTM D4048). Unlike Cat's Extreme Application and Prime Application greases, Cat Ball Bearing Grease contains no molybdenum disulfide. In Cat's grease selection guide it is positioned for low-load, high-speed working environments such as high-speed ball and roller bearings.
