Manufacturer's description

Eni Arnica 46 is a high performance anti-wear hydraulic oil, formulated specifically to meet the demands of high-pressure hydraulic systems, both industrial and mobile. It is formulated with selected base oils and a low-zinc additive package, which deliver excellent antioxidant properties and thermal and hydrolytic stability. Eni Arnica 46 is recommended for equipment working across a wide temperature range in the open — machines started at low temperatures and run at high ones (marine applications). It is also recommended for indoor equipment whose control systems require the viscosity to change little with temperature.

Applications

  • Eni Arnica 46 is a high performance antiwear hydraulic oil, specifically designed to meet the needs of modern, high pressure, industrial and mobile equipment hydraulic systems. It's formulated with selected base oils treated with “low zinc” technology ensuring excellent thermal, oxidative and hydrolytic stability. Eni Arnica 46 is reccomended for outdoor equipment which are likely to operate in wide temperature range, such as systems where cold start-up and high operating temperatures are typicals (marine applications). It's suitable also for indoor manufacturing equipment that incorporates control systems requiring minimal viscosity change with temperature.

Performance & benefits

  • Suitable for applications operating in a wide temperature range thanks to high a viscosity index and an excellent viscosity stability
  • Suitable for hydraulic systems with very thin filters (3 microns)
  • Prolongs oil charge life extending re-lubrication intervals thanks to very high termoossidative stability
  • Protects hydraulic pumps and components thanks to outstanding antiwear property
  • Helps prevent aeration and cavitation damage in low residence time systems thanks to rapid air release
  • Compatible with a wide variety of component metallurgy
  • Maximizes water removal system efficiency thanks to excellent demulsibility

Standards & approvals

  • DIN 51524-3 HVLP

Hydraulic oil HVLP — DIN 51524, part 3

Part 3 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HVLP oils, with the same additive package as HLP but a high viscosity index, for systems working across a wide temperature range.

Class HSE of the British hydraulic fluid viscosity classification, sitting around ISO VG 68.

  • AFNOR NF E 48603 HV

    NF E 48-603 type HV

Class HV of the French standard: an antiwear hydraulic oil with a high viscosity index.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-70

Fives Cincinnati P-70 — ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • Denison HF-0 level

Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level

The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.

  • Parker Denison HF0/HF1/HF2

    Parker Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2
