Manufacturer's description

Divinol Dieselsuperlight 10W-40 (Art-Nr. 49590) is a low-friction engine oil built on modern formulation technology and designed specifically for passenger-car diesel engines. It carries high alkaline reserves, which give it very good corrosion protection properties across the service life of the fill. The oil reduces engine wear, particularly during the critical start-up and warm-up phase, when lubrication is most demanding. It also counteracts oil thickening over the service interval, which in turn helps the oil retain its intended flow and lubrication characteristics for longer. Divinol Dieselsuperlight 10W-40 meets API CF and ACEA B3 and carries the manufacturer performance levels VW 505.00 and MB-Freigabe 229.1; Divinol additionally recommends it where ACEA B4-08 is required. Typical values are an SAE 10W-40 grade, 88 mm²/s at 40 °C, 13 mm²/s at 100 °C, a viscosity index of 150, density 0.868 g/cm³ at 15 °C, sulphated ash 1.2 %, TBN 9 mgKOH/g, pour point -35 °C and flash point 220 °C.

Applications

  • Designed specifically for passenger-car (PKW) diesel engines.

Performance & benefits

  • low-friction engine oil of modern technology
  • high alkaline reserves for very good corrosion protection
  • reduces wear, especially in the critical start-up and warm-up phase
  • limits oil thickening

Standards & approvals

  • API CF

Diesel engine oil, API CF performance level

API's service category for indirect-injection diesel engines, tolerant of higher-sulphur fuel. An earlier category in the API service classification, written for the engines of its era; it still appears on datasheets alongside the current categories.Source

  • ACEA B3

    ACEA B3 oil sequence

ACEA's sequence for light-duty diesel engines. An earlier sequence, no longer on ACEA's current list; it remains the level specified for the engines of its era.Source

  • VW 505 00

    VW 505 00 — diesel engine oil

VW's standard for passenger-car diesel engine oils without unit-injector injection, on a fixed drain interval.
