Cat NGEO SYN HP (Natural Gas Engine Oil Synthetic High Performance) is a synthetic engine oil developed to achieve exceptional performance and the highest power output in Cat G3500 natural gas engines, which use advanced combustion systems to deliver high power density. It is designed for full compatibility with G3500 high-power-density engines used for load management in standby and continuous-duty applications. Following Caterpillar guidelines, it extends oil drain intervals compared with typical gas engine oils, helps reduce downtime by improving combustion stability, maintains engine durability and reduces wear thanks to high chemical, thermal and shear stability, helps reduce oil consumption through low volatility (minimizing burn-off and evaporation loss), and helps sustain engine health by minimizing deposits and sludge. Using Cat NGEO SYN HP requires specialized filters compatible with synthetic base stock oils (available through the Cat dealer); when switching to it, the engine must be flushed to under 3% by volume of the previous oil to reduce cross-contamination, and elastomers and other components may need to be replaced beforehand to ensure full compatibility — see the Operation and Maintenance Manual or contact a Cat dealer for details. Typical characteristics: SAE 40, flash point 190°C min., pour point -30°C, sulfated ash 0.5% wt. min., TBN 10.5, kinematic viscosity 13.1 cSt at 100°C. Distributed in Romania by Bergerat Monnoyeur.
