Manufacturer's description
Divinol Öl-Ex 82 (Art-Nr. 67482) is a new-generation, all-purpose oil and chemical binding agent (Type I, Type II and III R) that can be used universally in industry and commerce, on roads and other trafficked surfaces, and on water. It is a granular, non-dusting, polyurethane-based material with a grain size of 0.5-4 mm, formulated to absorb liquids such as oils, drilling emulsions, paints, acids and alkalis while leaving water behind uncompromisingly. The product fully meets the requirements for oil binders published by the German Federal Environment Ministry, and it is officially tested and approved under Certificate No. 75015/05 dated 31.05.2005. It is chemically neutral, offers very good stability and remains non-slip even when saturated with oil, and it consists of a platelet rather than a fibre structure. Divinol Öl-Ex 82 is spread in a layer up to 3 mm thick and swept up with a broom after it has absorbed the liquid. Old, oil-contaminated floors should first be softened with a solvent and then sprinkled with the product. One bag (approx. 10 kg, equivalent to 40 litres) binds approximately 23 litres of heating oil. Because Divinol Öl-Ex 82 does not absorb water, there is practically no costly additional disposal of absorbed water together with the oil, giving it an unbeatable cost/benefit advantage with water-oil mixtures and outdoor applications in rain or wet conditions. The product is also excellently suited to thermal-energy recovery, and does not necessarily need to be disposed of at all: it burns almost residue-free when oil-soaked, leaving a minimal ash residue of only 2%.
