Mobil DTE Oil Heavy
Circulating oil for steam and hydro turbines with rapid water separation, ISO VG 100
ABB Turbo HZTL 90572
The Mobil DTE Oil Named Series are premium-performance circulating lubricants designed for steam and hydro turbine sets and other systems requiring long lubricant service life. Formulated from highly refined base stocks and an additive system, they deliver extremely high chemical and thermal stability, rapid and complete water separation, and high resistance to emulsification, along with excellent protection against rust and corrosion (including salt water) and good anti-wear properties. Their high viscosity index minimizes film-thickness variation with temperature and power loss during warm-up, while excellent air release avoids pump cavitation and erratic operation. Available in ISO VG 32 (Light), 46 (Medium), 68 (Heavy Medium) and 100 (Heavy) grades, DTE Oil Named lubricants are widely used in land-based and marine steam and hydro turbine circulation systems, including geared turbines, with splash, bath, ring-oiling or other continuous circulation methods. They are recommended for continuous-service lubrication of plain and rolling bearings, parallel-shaft gearing, moderate-severity hydraulic pumps, and rotary/reciprocating compressors and vacuum pumps handling air, natural gas or inert gases with discharge temperatures up to 150°C. The series carries ABB Turbo HZTL 90572/90617 approvals and GE Power GEK 27070/28143A/46506D/120498 recommendations, and meets DIN 51515-1:2010-02 and JIS K-2213 Type 2 classifications, backed by decades of proven service across a wide variety of industrial applications.
ABB Turbo HZTL 90572 — turbocharger oil
The ABB Turbo Systems standard for the lubricating oil of its own turbochargers, where the oil runs at very high speed beside hot exhaust gas.
ABB Turbo HZTL 90617 — turbocharger oil
The ABB Turbo Systems turbocharger oil standard, a parallel sheet to HZTL 90572 for a different class of unit.
GE — turbine oil requirements
A General Electric specification for the lubricating and control oils of its own gas and steam turbines: high oxidation stability, rapid air release and resistance to varnish formation.
