Manufacturer's description

EHC base stocks by ExxonMobil are designed for performance capability across a broad range of finished lubricant applications. With base-oil interchange and viscosity-grade read-across capabilities, the EHC slate offers broad coverage that enables supply-chain flexibility and simplified qualification testing. EHC base stocks comprise a global Group II slate as defined within API and ATIEL guidelines for automotive lubricant formulation, and are also used in industrial and marine applications that benefit from higher oxidation stability and higher viscosity index. Key features include tightly controlled volatility and viscosity index specifications that enable formulations to meet or exceed API, ACEA and ILSAC requirements, targeted saturates levels for optimum additive solubility, exceptional oxidation stability, and product specifications that support both passenger-car and heavy-duty engine oil quality requirements. The series spans grades EHC 45, EHC 50, EHC 65, EHC 110, EHC 120 and EHC 340 MAX (commercially available from 2025), certified on release to defined limits for kinematic viscosity, flash point, pour point (-15°C to -18°C), Noack volatility, saturates content (min 98 wt%) and viscosity index (95-119 depending on grade), per ASTM D1500, D5293, D92, D445, D5800 and D97/D2270/D7419 methods.

Performance & benefits

  • EHC base stocks deliver qualities that enable our customers to produce high performance blends. Key features include: • Tightly controlled volatility and viscosity index (VI) specifications enabling formulations to meet or exceed API, ACEA and ILSAC requirements • Targeted saturates levels to provide optimum additive solubility • Exceptional oxidation stability • Product specifications that enable formulators to meet or exceed passenger and heavy-duty engine oil quality requirements. _The data sheet lists further features and benefits in a two-column table that could not be separated reliably from the extracted text — see the PDF in this folder._
