Manufacturer's description
Mobil HyJet V is a Type V fire-resistant phosphate ester hydraulic fluid with thermal and hydrolytic stability superior to commercially available Type IV fluids. Better stability means less fluid degradation in aircraft systems, longer in-service fluid life, and potentially lower maintenance costs for aircraft operators. It provides excellent high- and low-temperature flow properties, strong rust protection, and improved erosion protection compared with Type IV fluids. Designed for commercial aircraft phosphate ester hydraulic systems, Mobil HyJet V meets SAE AS1241 requirements and is compatible in all proportions with other commercial Type IV and Type V phosphate ester aviation hydraulic fluids. Its low density helps reduce aircraft weight and fuel consumption, while its excellent low- and high-temperature viscosity balance and deposit control support precise hydraulic system control and longer equipment life. The fluid is approved by major airframe manufacturers, including Airbus (NSA 307110N, Type V), Boeing (BMS 3-11P, Type V, Grade A and C; Boeing-Long Beach DMS2014H, Type 5) and Gulfstream (1159SCH302J, Type V), and appears on their Qualified Products Lists.
Applications
- Mobil HyJet V is designed for use in commercial aircraft phosphate ester hydraulic systems. It meets the SAE AS1241 requirements and is included in commercial and business airframe manufacturer Qualified Products Lists, as shown below. It is compatible in all proportions with commercial Type IV and Type V phosphate ester aviation hydraulic fluids.
Performance & benefits
- Higher stability than Type IV fluids Meets Boeing BMS 3-11 and SAE AS1241 Type IV and Type V requirementsLesser need to replace fluid due to degradation, Reduced hydraulic system maintenance costs Improved flammability characteristics over meeting just the Type V requirements Reduced weight of the hydraulic fluid carried by aircraft,
- Low densityReduced aircraft fuel consumption, Lower operating costs
- Excellent rust protectionReduced risk of equipment damage in the event of major water contamination Precise hydraulic system control and response even during extended
- Excellent low and high temperature viscosity balance Excellent deposit controlrange/polar flights, Longer aircraft hydraulic system equipment life Longer aircraft hydraulic system equipment life, Reduced maintenance costs
