Cat ATF HD2 (Automatic Transmission Fluid, Heavy Duty, 2nd formulation) is Caterpillar's formulation for a synthetic automatic transmission fluid, offering exceptional stability and protection. It is intended for use in Cat Vocational trucks fitted with automatic transmissions, and in other heavy-duty automatic transmissions requiring fluid meeting the Caterpillar AT-1 specification. Cat ATF HD2 replaces Caterpillar's earlier formulation, Cat ATF HD. Typical values from the Cat technical data sheet include a flash point of 236°C (ASTM D92), a pour point of -54°C (ASTM D97), and a zinc content of 0.03% by weight (ASTM D4951).
