Manufacturer's description

Cat DEAC (Diesel Engine Antifreeze/Coolant) is a heavy-duty cooling-system fluid concentrate designed to prevent freezing and boiling while providing superior component protection. It is approved for use in all Cat machines, commercial engine and truck engine applications, as well as in most diesel, gas or natural gas engines made by other manufacturers (following OEM recommendations). Cat DEAC protects the cooling system over a temperature range of -34°F (-37°C) to 265°F (129°C) as a recommended 50/50 mix with water, with additional freeze protection available at a 60% concentration. It contains inhibitors that provide superior protection for metal components — especially aluminum — against pitting and corrosion, and its formulation minimizes foam. In ASTM D2809 testing with aluminum water pumps, Cat DEAC demonstrated superior protection compared with competitive heavy-duty coolants. Being a fully formulated, embittered concentrate ready to mix with water, no Supplemental Coolant Additive is needed until testing indicates otherwise; when used in Cat diesel engines and properly maintained with Cat SCA, Cat DEAC has a drain interval of whichever comes first: 3,000 service hours, 3 years, or 200,000 miles (321,869 km). Typical characteristics (as a 50% mix): boiling protection 129°C (265°F) at a 15 psi (1 bar) radiator cap, freeze protection -37°C (-34°F), pH 10.5, nitrite 1,200 ppm, molybdate 310 ppm, silicon (as silicates) 120 ppm and phosphate 0 ppm; color magenta per ASTM D6210. Cat DEAC meets or exceeds ASTM D3306, D4985, D6210, TMC RP302 and TMC RP329. Distributed in Romania by Bergerat Monnoyeur.
