Cat MTO (Multipurpose Tractor Oil) is a tractor oil for multi-application use, intended per its safety data sheet as both a hydraulic fluid and a manual transmission fluid. It is used in older Cat Backhoe Loader rear axles and in Cat Challenger tractors. Where approved for use, it improves control and extends life in clutches and wet brakes, offers exceptional anti-wear properties that extend equipment and component life, can be used in temperatures as low as -13°F (-25°C), and simplifies maintenance by covering multiple compartments with a single oil, reducing inventory and the chance of using the wrong product. Its high thermal stability and oxidation resistance give it long service life in severe applications. Cat MTO meets a range of original equipment manufacturer specifications, including API GL-4, CNH MAT3525, Ford New Holland FNHA-2-C-201.00, Kubota UDT, Volvo WB 101/BM, and Agco Powerfluid 821 XL. It can also be substituted in applications requiring Allison C4 or Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2 (T5D & P46, agriculture applications only) fluids, and meets Ford specification ESN-M2C 134 D. As with other Cat Fluids, drain intervals can be extended and problems detected early using Cat S•O•S Services oil analysis together with Cat filters.
